Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American essayist, mathematical statistician and former options trader who teaches at New York University. His work is about randomness, probability and uncertainty, and specifically about the rare high-impact events that models built on ordinary variation cannot see coming. The Incerto sequence, from Fooled by Randomness through The Black Swan to Antifragile and Skin in the Game, argues that surviving uncertainty beats predicting it.
