Ann Patchett

Ann Patchett is an American novelist who won the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize in 2002 for Bel Canto, and whose The Dutch House was a Pulitzer finalist in 2020. Her novels tend to strand a group of people together and watch what forms between them, from hostages in a besieged mansion to siblings orbiting a house they lost. She also co-owns Parnassus Books in Nashville, opened when the city had no bookstore left.
