Taleb’s argument is about asymmetry: people who make decisions without bearing their downside produce systematically bad outcomes, whether in finance, policy or war. He treats exposure to consequences as a filter for both honest advice and functioning systems, and extends it into an ethics — that the right to an opinion is earned by standing to lose something if it is wrong.
