Peter Thiel

Peter Thiel is a German-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist who co-founded PayPal, co-founded the data company Palantir, and was the first outside investor in Facebook. Through Founders Fund he backed many of the defining startups of the 2010s. His one book, Zero to One, distils the contrarian investing philosophy he is known for: that real progress comes from building something genuinely new, a monopoly of one, rather than competing to make incremental copies of what already exists.
