Edwidge Danticat is a Haitian American novelist and short story writer who moved to Brooklyn at twelve to join parents who had emigrated years earlier. Her first novel, Breath, Eyes, Memory, became an Oprah’s Book Club selection, and Everything Inside collects stories that move between Haiti and its diaspora. She writes about migration, dictatorship and inherited grief without ever letting the politics flatten the people carrying it.
