The Raven and Other Favorite Poems
A Dover Thrift collection of 41 poems by Edgar Allan Poe, led by the title poem, which first ran in the New York Evening Mirror in 1845.
This Dover paperback holds The Raven and 40 other poems by Edgar Allan Poe. The title poem appeared in the New York Evening Mirror on 29 January 1845 and gave Poe his first taste of celebrity. Börge Hellström says he met it at nine through a cartoon whose raven scared him with its sinister, nasty look, and he asked his mother to track down the original. He credits it with drawing him to the darker side of life.

I first came across it when I was nine years old. I still remember this cartoon which had the raven in it.
