Sula

Toni Morrison’s second novel follows Nel and Sula, two Black girls who grow up close in the hilltop community called the Bottom in Ohio. As adults they take opposite paths, Nel into conventional marriage, Sula into restless independence, and a betrayal fractures their bond.
