Steve Jobs

Co-founder of Apple

Steve Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976, was forced out by its board in 1985, founded NeXT and bought Pixar, then returned as chief executive in 1997 and stayed until his resignation in 2011. He was a pioneer of the personal computer and closely involved in the products that followed it. He read widely outside technology, and his 2005 Stanford address is the clearest record of what shaped him, ending on a line he borrowed from a catalog he grew up with.
