We Were Never Here
For the second year running, a friend's holiday ends with a body and an explanation, and the other one starts to wonder.
Emily and Kristen take an annual trip together, and for the second year running it ends with a dead man in a hotel room and Kristen explaining that she had no choice. Back in Wisconsin, Emily starts to reconsider the whole friendship. Bartz writes the codependent intensity of a long female friendship convincingly, and the novel is at its best on how much a person will rationalise before admitting what they already know.

All right, here are the facts: this book is every suspense-lovers dream and it kept me up WAY too late turning pages.
