Ella Berman is a novelist who grew up between Los Angeles and London. She studied psychology, worked at Sony Music and founded a clothing label before publishing her first novel, The Comeback, about a former teen star returning to the industry that damaged her. Before We Were Innocent followed. Both became book club selections, and her subject is young women living with the version of themselves the public decided on.
