Gillian Anderson is an American actress and writer who became famous around the world as FBI agent Dana Scully in The X-Files, a role that won her an Emmy. Her later work includes Stella Gibson in The Fall, Jean Milburn in Netflix’s Sex Education and Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, which brought her a second Emmy and a second Golden Globe. She has also won acclaim on stage, including as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Her fiction includes the science fiction thriller A Vision of Fire.
