Wally Lamb is an American novelist whose first two books, She’s Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True, were both chosen for Oprah’s Book Club, an endorsement that made him a fixture of American reading groups. His most recent novel is The River Is Waiting. Lamb directed the writing centre at Norwich Free Academy for nearly a decade and has taught creative writing at the University of Connecticut. His recurring subject is ordinary people carrying far more than they are able to say.
