W. H. Hudson

William Henry Hudson was an Anglo-Argentine author, naturalist and ornithologist, born on the Argentine pampas where he roamed freely as a boy, watching birds and collecting specimens for the Smithsonian. He settled in England and wrote books that moved easily between natural history and memoir, among them Idle Days in Patagonia and The Book of a Naturalist. Two Patagonian birds carry his name. He died in 1922.
