Sophie Kinsella
Novelist
Sophie Kinsella was the pen name of Madeleine Wickham, who had already published several novels under her own name when The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic appeared in 2000 and made Becky Bloomwood one of the most recognisable characters in popular fiction. The series ran to nine books and a film, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and her work sold more than fifty million copies in over sixty countries. She died in December 2025.
