Nancy Goldstone

Nancy Goldstone writes narrative history about women who ruled, and is cited by other historians for it. Four Queens follows the four sisters from Provence who each married a king; The Lady Queen recovers Joanna I of Naples; The Maid and the Queen sets Joan of Arc beside her patron Yolande of Aragon; and The Rival Queens takes Catherine de’ Medici and her daughter Marguerite de Valois. With her husband Lawrence Goldstone she also wrote Out of the Flames, on a book burned in the sixteenth century alongside its author.
