Linda Sarsour is a Palestinian-American organiser from Brooklyn who came up through the Arab American Association of New York and became one of the national co-chairs of the 2017 Women’s March. She is a polarising public figure and has been unusually direct about the cost of that.
We Are Not Here to Be Bystanders is her memoir of that path, from a Bay Ridge childhood to national organising, and it is more concerned with the mechanics of building coalitions than with the controversies.
