Cal Newport

Cal Newport is an American computer scientist and a professor at Georgetown University who writes about attention, focus and the real costs of digital distraction. Deep Work argued that the ability to concentrate without interruption is becoming both rarer and more valuable at the same time, and Slow Productivity followed it with a case against overload as a measure of seriousness. He has never held a social media account, which he offers as evidence rather than eccentricity.
