Sam is fighting with her mother when she is thrown back to 1995 and lands in her mother’s own high school, where the woman she cannot get along with is a teenager with her own ambitions. Goo uses the time-travel comedy to look at the specific friction between Korean American immigrant parents and their children, and lets the daughter discover that her mother had a life before the disappointment.
