The Witch of Portobello
Paulo Coelho's 2006 novel about a woman born in Transylvania to a Romani mother and raised by a Lebanese couple, in the Harper Perennial paperback.
Published in Portuguese in 2006 as A Bruxa de Portobello, the novel centres on a woman born out of wedlock to a Romani mother in Transylvania. Her mother gave her up because her father was a foreigner, and a wealthy Lebanese couple adopted her.
