The 6:41 to Paris
Blondel's novel of two former lovers who meet by chance on a train to Paris, translated by Alison Anderson.
Originally published in France as 06h41 by Buchet-Chastel in 2013, the book is told through the alternating thoughts of Cécile and Philippe, who parted twenty-seven years earlier. Cécile is now a successful businesswoman. For most of the journey they say nothing, and each replays the short affair. New Vessel Press published Alison Anderson’s translation in 2015, and the novel has been translated into ten languages.
