Moonstone: The Boy Who Never Was
Sjón's novel set in Reykjavik during the Spanish flu, following a young call boy named Máni, translated by Victoria Cribb for Hodder & Stoughton in 2017.
Sjón is an Icelandic poet, novelist and lyricist who has collaborated with Björk. In Moonstone: The Boy Who Never Was, Dorthe Nors says, the Spanish flu sweeps through Reykjavik while Máni, a young call boy, drifts through sexual encounters on the thin line between life and death. She praises its ending for its coolness and precision. Victoria Cribb translated it from Icelandic, and Open Library lists a 2017 Hodder & Stoughton edition.
