Newcago is free for the first time in a decade, and the celebration lasts about as long as it takes for an Epic named Mitosis to arrive, splitting himself into as many copies as he needs. It is a brisk, self-contained piece whose real job is to make the point the trilogy is built on: killing one tyrant does not end the problem that produced him.
