Less: A Novel
A minor novelist accepts every literary invitation on earth to avoid attending his ex's wedding.
Arthur Less is about to turn fifty and cannot face the wedding, so he strings together a circuit of festivals, residencies and teaching posts across several continents. The comedy is gentle and the misfortunes accumulate, but Greer is doing more than farce with a man trying to outrun one specific loss. It won the Pulitzer for fiction in 2018.

Andrew Sean Greer, Less: A Novel. I do not like much in contemporary American fiction, but so far I am quite enjoying this one.
