F. Scott Fitzgerald: A Life in Letters
Fitzgerald's life told through his own letters, from early fame to his last years in Hollywood.
A selection of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s letters, edited by Matthew J. Bruccoli with Judith S. Baughman. Written to his editor Maxwell Perkins, to friends such as Edmund Wilson and Ernest Hemingway, to Zelda and to his daughter, they trace his life from early success to his last years in Hollywood, in his own voice.

If you really want to understand Fitzgerald you need to hear his own voice. He had a great deal more range than people sometimes think. What I love about A Life in Letters is that it conveys more clearly his sense of humour.
