Florynce Kennedy was a lawyer, activist and professional provocateur who represented Billie Holiday’s estate, sued the Catholic Church over abortion law, and organised a mass public urination protest at Harvard over the lack of women’s toilets. This 1976 memoir is loose, funny and largely uninterested in respectability, which was the point. The line most often quoted from it, and from her, is that you should not agonise but organise.
