A River Runs Through It and Other Stories
Two brothers, fly fishing and grief in Montana, in one of the best-loved American novellas.
Norman Maclean’s 1976 book, published when he was in his seventies. The title novella is a memoir-like story of two brothers in Montana in the 1930s, the narrator and his younger brother Paul, a brilliant fly fisherman whose life is falling apart. It is joined by two stories about the author’s youth in the Forest Service and logging camps.
