Killers of the Flower Moon

In the 1920s the Osage were, per capita, among the wealthiest people on earth because oil was found beneath the Oklahoma land they had been forced onto. Then they began to be murdered, dozens of them, while guardians appointed to manage their money quietly inherited it. Grann reconstructs the killings and the young Bureau of Investigation that took the case, and the last section makes clear the toll was far larger than the convictions suggested.
