Jonathan Healey

Jonathan Healey is a British historian of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and associate professor of social history at Oxford. He writes history from the bottom up, reconstructing ordinary lives, their politics and their quarrels, rather than the decisions of rulers. The Blazing World covers revolutionary England from 1603 to 1689, and The Blood in Winter narrows to the single year in which the country fell into civil war. He was born in Leeds and lives in Oxford.
