Jared Diamond

Jared Diamond is an American scientist, historian and author who won the Pulitzer Prize for Guns, Germs, and Steel, which argues that the broad shape of human history was set by geography and biogeography rather than by any difference between peoples. The Third Chimpanzee examines what separates humans from the other great apes, which turns out to be less than most readers expect. He trained in physiology and worked for years as an ornithologist in New Guinea.
