Andrea Dworkin argues that conservative women make a rational bargain, trading autonomy for the protection of a home and a husband, because the alternative on offer has often been worse. Published in 1983 and still uncomfortable reading in both directions, from a thinker more rigorous and more consistent than her reputation allows.

Andrea Dworkin, Right-Wing Women. In my view, Dworkin remains an underrated and intellectually honest (if overly consistent) feminist thinker. This one is from 1978, still interesting albeit repulsive if you try to apply any moral judgment to it.
