Yoko: A Biography
The woman blamed for breaking up the Beatles, taken seriously as an artist in her own right.
David Sheff, who interviewed Ono and Lennon at length, follows her from wartime Tokyo through the New York avant-garde to the decades she spent managing a legacy while making her own work. He treats the conceptual art and the music as the career they were, rather than as background to a marriage, and is fair about what collaborators found difficult.

David Sheff, Yoko: A Biography. An excellent work, I view Yoko as a quite good visual and conceptual artist, a sometimes quite interesting but hard to listen to in any volume musical creator, and overall a pretty stunning woman. Sheff has known Yoko well for decades, so you get a real sense of her from this book, even if you wonder that perhaps not all details are being reported.
