Yuval Noah Harari

Yuval Noah Harari is an Israeli historian and professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, trained as a medievalist and military historian before turning to the very long view. Sapiens grew out of his undergraduate world history lectures and became a global bestseller, followed by Homo Deus, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century and Nexus. His subject across all of them is how shared stories let large numbers of strangers cooperate.
