Marc Andreessen
Venture Capitalist
Marc Andreessen co-wrote Mosaic, the first web browser to display images inline, then co-founded Netscape and turned the browser into the thing everyone used. He is now a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, the venture firm he co-founded. His 2007 blog, archived as Pmarchive, remains the most-quoted body of writing on startups by a working investor, and it is where his reading turns up: he wrote about books the way he wrote about companies, looking for the one that explains the mechanism.
