Ramzy Baroud is a journalist who grew up in a refugee camp in Gaza and now edits The Palestine Chronicle. His method is oral history: he builds books from the testimony of ordinary Palestinians rather than from officials and analysts, on the argument that the people living a history are its most reliable witnesses.
My Father Was a Freedom Fighter traces his own family across the 1948 displacement, and The Last Earth widens the same approach across the diaspora.
