Two writers are summoned to an island to audition for the same job, ghostwriting the memoir of a reclusive heiress with a much-speculated-about past. They are given a month each and access to the same subject. Henry, better known for romance, uses the rivalry to write about storytelling itself: who owns a life, which version gets published, and how a person edits themselves for the record.
