The second Busy Betty book takes Betty and her big-idea energy to the circus. As in her debut, the setup is simple and the execution is not: a plan forms, complications multiply, and the fix arrives through friendship and persistence rather than luck. Xindi Yan illustrates again, matching the noise and colour of the setting. Witherspoon writes Betty as a child whose enthusiasm consistently outruns her planning, which is much of the appeal for the readers it targets.
