Co-Founder & Chairman, Netflix
Reed Hastings is an American entrepreneur who co-founded Netflix in 1997 and led it from a DVD-by-mail service into the company that defined streaming television. A former Peace Corps math teacher, he became known for an unusually candid corporate culture built on “freedom and responsibility.” His book, No Rules Rules, written with INSEAD professor Erin Meyer, lays out that philosophy: few rules, radical candor, high talent density, and paying top of market, and argues it is what let Netflix keep reinventing itself.
