Adapted from his Tony-nominated Broadway show, this graphic memoir turns Leguizamo’s life story into comics, with artists Christa Cassano and Shamus Beyale illustrating his rise from struggling actor to stage star. The panels capture what a prose memoir can’t: the physical comedy, the impressions, the sheer motion of his performances. It covers the mentors, breakups, and battles with directors that shaped him, and makes an argument that his chaotic life was always, in some sense, material.
