Alanis Morissette
Singer-Songwriter
Alanis Morissette is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter and record producer, often called the “Queen of Alt-Rock Angst” after her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill turned her into a global phenomenon. She has sold more than 60 million records and won seven Grammy Awards. Away from music she is a devoted student of psychology, spirituality and emotional healing, and reads voraciously in all three. She has spoken about hiding self-help books out of embarrassment as a young woman, ripping the covers off so no one would see, before coming to champion them openly. Her recommendations lean toward sensitivity, recovery and conscious living.
