The second Reckoners novel moves to Babylon Restored, the drowned ruin of Manhattan, where David hunts the Epic who might explain what he saw. The problem is Firefight, an Epic he has every reason to kill and no desire to. Sanderson complicates the first book’s clean logic, digging into where the powers come from and what triggers the corruption, and David’s certainty starts to crack.
