Omar Suleiman

Omar Suleiman is an American imam, author, and civil rights activist, and the founder and president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. Raised in Louisiana as the child of Palestinian immigrants, he came to faith early through a period of difficulty and a deep habit of reading, and he went on to become a widely followed teacher and speaker. He serves as an adjunct professor of Islamic studies at Southern Methodist University. He has written a large catalogue of short, accessible books on faith, character, and worship, and he is known for connecting classical Islamic scholarship to contemporary social questions.
