Nox

Anne Carson · 2010

Anne Carson's New Directions volume of 2010, a poet's mourning for her brother.

Carson created Nox in 2000 as a memorial to her brother Michael, who fled Canada in 1978 after a drug arrest and died before they could reconnect, and she published it in 2010. It has been described as her most explicitly personal work, and she developed the book design and performances with her husband, the artist Robert Currie. The National Book Critics Circle shortlisted it. Fonseca takes his copy everywhere.
