A French teacher nearing retirement goes to the exhibition of a painter he once taught. Soon he is posing for a portrait, perhaps unclothed, and the arrangement pulls both of them into taking stock of their lives. Blondel published it in France in 2018 as La Mise à nu, and New Vessel Press brought out Anderson’s English version the following year.
