The Eighth Life (for Brilka)
Nino Haratischwili's family saga built around a chocolate recipe handed down through generations, in Scribe UK's English edition.
At the start of the twentieth century, on the edge of the Russian Empire, a family prospers thanks to a chocolate recipe passed down with great caution. Charlotte Collins and Ruth Martin translated the novel from German. It has appeared in 30 languages, won the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation, the Anna Seghers Prize and the Bertolt Brecht Prize, and was longlisted for the 2020 International Booker Prize.
