Against All Enemies
Inside America's War on Terror
Richard A. Clarke's 2004 insider account of America's war on terror, by the former chief counter-terrorism adviser, from Free Press.
Richard Clarke served as the US chief counter-terrorism adviser, and in this book he criticises successive administrations, above all George W. Bush’s, for how they handled terrorism. He argues Bush did too little before the 11 September attacks and that the 2003 invasion of Iraq hampered the fight against terrorism. Yosri Fouda recommends it for Clarke’s view from the situation room on the day and finds its account compelling.
