Navigational Entanglements

Aliette de Bodard sets her novella in a far-future civilisation based on Vietnamese culture, where navigator clans guide ships through the Hollows, an extradimensional space that allows faster-than-light travel. When a creature called a Tangler escapes, each clan sends an apprentice to help catch it. The book was a finalist for the BSFA, Hugo and Locus awards. Karin Tidbeck names de Bodard among their new favourites in science fiction.
