Ficciones

Jorge Luis Borges · 1994

Jorge Luis Borges's short stories of labyrinths, libraries and invented worlds, in the Grove Press paperback.

Ficciones gathers short stories Jorge Luis Borges wrote in Spanish between 1941 and 1956, combining The Garden of Forking Paths with a later section called Artifices. Grove Press published the whole book in English in 1962. Paulo Coelho read one of the stories, The Babel Library, in a science fiction magazine at 20 and fell for Borges’s style and universe. He says Borges is the only South American writer whose books he has all read and reread.
