Collected Stories
Levine's translation of all Bruno Schulz's published stories, including The Cinnamon Shops, Jean-Baptiste Del Amo's pick.
Collected Stories brings together all of Bruno Schulz’s published stories in Madeline G. Levine’s translation, with a foreword by Rivka Galchen. It contains Cinnamon Shops, his 1934 collection also titled The Street of Crocodiles in English, which is the book Jean-Baptiste Del Amo actually recommends, along with The Sanatorium under the Hourglass and four further stories. Del Amo praises how Schulz transforms everyday reality through memory, dream and metamorphosis.
