The Son of Man is the English translation by Frank Wynne of Jean-Baptiste Del Amo’s novel Le Fils de l’homme, which won the Prix du roman Fnac in 2021. Del Amo wrote it as a counterpoint to his earlier novel Animalia, seeking the primal images of the transmission of violence through just three characters and a single setting. Service95 chose it as its Book Club read for February. This Fitzcarraldo Editions edition appeared in 2024.
