Antiracist Baby
A rhyming picture book that gives young children and their parents nine steps toward being antiracist.
Ibram X. Kendi wrote this 2020 picture book, illustrated by Ashley Lukashevsky, as a way to talk about racism with young children. Inspired by his own four-year-old daughter, it sets out nine steps in rhyming text, such as opening our eyes to all skin colors and celebrating our differences. Its message is that babies are taught to be racist or antiracist, and that there is no neutral ground.
